This section of the website is designed to allow medical
and rehabilitation specialists to access information upon which
Mr McNicholas has based his practice. There are areas with suggested
reading material to deepen knowledge of all aspects of knee problems;
active links to relevant information provided by governing bodies
such as the National Institute of Clinical Excellenece (NICE), the
Arthritis and Rheumatism Council (ARC) and the British Orthopaedic
Association (BOA); Mersey Deanery Postgraduate teaching programme
knee module schedules; and the rehabilitation protocols that patients
treated at the McNicholas knee clinic and advised to follow. The Warrington Knee Injury Database is an Access Database
designed by Mr McNicholas, with assistance from members of the North Cheshire NHS Trust Information
Technology Department. In 2007 it was adopted by the British Orthopaedic
Sports Trauma Association and is freely available to anyone who
wishes to use it. All Mr McNicholas would ask in return is that its use is acknowledged
in any presentations or papers arising from the study using it,
and that the details of these are forwarded to database@mcnicholaskneeclinic.co.uk.
Also if you find any bugs ( and hopefully how to deal with them)
or develop any new database queries, please forward them
to that address so that I can ensure the instruction section and
database are regularly updated to stop unnecessary duplication of
effort.
In the Fellows area there is a section allowing all previous and
current Fellows, Specialist Registrars and Senior House Officers
to keep upto date with ongoing research and audit projects, to enable
them to keep their CVs and professional portfolios updated.
